Greek Orthodox Baptism - Alexios

A few weeks ago I had the honor and blessing to witness this sweet boy enter the Church at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation, in Atlanta.

It was an absolutely perfect day in Atlanta. Alexios was the sweetest snuggling Mom with a cheerful grin…well…up until the actual Baptism.

After the recitation of the Creed and promises made by the parents and Godparents, the family went forward into the Church to witness their son be Baptized.

Alexios was dipped into the Baptismal font and baptized, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” and was placed in the arms of his godfather.

After follows the anointing of Sacred Chrism for the Confirmation, and then another beautiful ritual belonging to Greek Orthodoxy; tonsure.

I look forward to returning to the Orthodox Cathedral again soon. If you’re interested in having your child’s Baptism photographed, I’d love to hear from you. Be sure to check out my Baptism page.
